ORGANIZING CORPS 2020 IS GIVING YOUNG PEOPLE THE SKILLS NEEDED TO WORK ON THE 2020 GENERAL ELECTION STARTING THIS SUMMER

We are recruiting college juniors and students expecting to complete school by June 2020 to spend 8 weeks this summer – June 10, 2019–August 2, 2019 – learning the art and science of being a field organizer in a presidential election.

Corps members can earn $4,000 gaining valuable career skills in leadership, project management and communication while experiencing the exciting and rewarding field of campaigns.

The program kicks off with a five-day national training led by campaign veterans where corps members will learn key skills in field and digital organizing, and data analytics. For the remaining 7 weeks, corps members will, with the help of a coach, return to their home communities and work with their local Democratic party to turn the training into on the ground learning through action – organizing neighborhoods and registering voters. In the process, corps members will build a powerful network of like-minded peers and mentors from across the country that will last beyond 2020.

The summer 2019 corps experience will give young people the skills and tools to organize their community and – importantly – get a great first job working for the Democratic presidential nominee and fighting to win across the country in 2020.

PARTICIPATE IN THE FUTURE

THE LOW DOWN

Organizing Corps 2020’s 8-week paid training program will build your skills so you can work on the presidential election and build the kind of America you believe in.

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for young people who are inclusive, resilient, and courageous, lead with heart, hustle, and joy, and are excited about the prospect of working on a presidential campaign. No need to be a political science expert or avid watcher of CNN – all majors, leaders and team players are welcome!

WHAT YOU'LL DO

This summer you will learn and use the skills of campaign organizing: register voters, recruit volunteers, set-up a campaign office, host a house party, organize your community, and use the newest data and digital tools to maximize your efforts.

In the process, you will develop career skills in leadership, project management and communication, and build a powerful network of like-minded peers and mentors from across the country that will last you well beyond 2020.

WHERE YOU'LL GO

During your senior year we will continue to run programming to develop you while you are back on campus.

After graduation we will help you prepare your resume and market your organizing skills and experience to campaigns so that you can get to work putting a Democrat in the White House and every seat up and down the ticket in 2020.

WHERE WE’RE TRAINING THIS SUMMER

Organizing Corps 2020 will be in 10 U.S. cities in summer 2019: Atlanta, Charlotte, Detroit, Ft. Lauderdale, Miami, Milwaukee, Orlando, Phoenix, Philadelphia, and Tampa.

MEET OUR CORPS

“I joined Organizing Corps because I want to help elect people to office that have more of my ideals and to feel more represented in the White House.”

ALONDRA, Guaynabo, PR
University of Tampa

I’m excited to join Organizing Corps because I believe that America belongs to those who get involved. America didn’t just decide to pass historic civil rights legislation on a whim. Someone had to get involved and fight for an America that would act on the belief that we are all created equal.

ELIJAH, Winston Salem, NC
Oral Roberts University

I joined Organizing Corps because growing up low-income I have witnessed first hand the failure of our state, country, and elected officials to take care of our citizens. I organize to ensure that every voice is heard in our democratic process, and that no person is left behind due to their identity.

HANNAH, Owosso, MI
Eastern Michigan University

I joined Organizing Corps 2020 to amplify the interests of the poor in my community and empower the huge population of college students that inhabit Orlando, who are also a critical mass of the working of the working-class.

ANTHONY, Orlando, FL
University of Central Florida
